Sans.-Somaraja; Atavi jeeraka; Avalguja; Vakuci. Eng.-Purple  Fleabane. Hindi.-Bakchi; Somraj. Ben.-Kalouji; Somraj. Guj.-Kadvo-jiri.& Mah.-Kali-jiri. Tel.-Adavi-jilkara; Vishakantakalu. Tam.-Kattu-Shiragam. Mal.-Kattukjiriagam. can.-Kadu-jirigay. Kon.-Kale-jiray Sinh.-Sanni-naegam. Malay.-Justan-hutan.

Uses.- Seeds are generally used in cases of round worms,which are expelledlifeless. Dose is about 2 to 3 drachms of the bruised seeds administered in electuary with 4 to 6 drachms of honey in two equal doses and followed by an aperient.Externally, seeds are used in skin diseases in a variety of forms such as paste,oil etc.

It has few medicinal value in adults however it is fatal to children and kids..
