Uses:Root is employed in diarrhoea as well as  in cases of chronic colic  and dysentry. To relieve bilious dyspepsia  and diarrhora and to promote appetite; root is also used in rheumatism,; Tubers are candied and taken as a  sweetmeat. Fresh root-juice is given with honey as a demulcent; bark is poisonous.
