Uses.-Guggul gum is an oleo-gum-resin and sometimes used in place of myrrh being much cheaper;and fresh or recently exuded gum is used. It is used in rheumatism,nervous diseases,scrofulputed in the treatment disorder and skin diseases. It is highly reputed in the treatment of rheumatism given internally and applied locally. It is used as a stomachic in chronic dyspepsia with dilatation and atony of the walls of the stomach troublesome borborygmi are often relieved by use of this olen-resin etc.
