Uses.-Petals of the flowers are employed for the production of rose water and attar of rose. Rose water is distilled in simple stills, a thousand roses being reckoned to produce a pint-bottle of rose water.Rose water which is generally prepared icons dried petals,fro the petal also a syrup is sometimes made and a conserve named gulkand. It is most useful for sore-throat or enlarged tonsils also fattening to womwn and old people.Locally the are applied to cure aphthae etc.
