“Kumatikai” (also spelled as Kumattikai or Kumitikay) refers to the plant or fruit known in English as the Citrullus colocynthis, commonly called the Bitter Apple or Colocynth. It is known by various names across different Indian languages:

- Sanskrit: Indravaruni (इन्द्रवारुणी)
- Kannada: Havumekkekayi gida or Tutti
