Uses.-Plant and dired spiny fruits are used in decoction or infusion in cases of spermatorrhoea,phosphaturia,diseases of the genito-urinary system such dysuria,ganorrhoea,gleet,chronic cystitis,calculous affections,urinary disorders,incontinence of urine,gout and impotence.
Water rendered mucilaginous by the plant is drunk as a remedy for impotence and an infusion of the stem is administered in gonorrhoea. It is generally given with hyoscyamus and opium conditions of the urinary passages etc. | Akkaraa, to treat rheumatoid arthritis, seizure disorders, erectile dysfunction and indigestion.

Uses : It is sialogogue and is regarded as a tonic to the nervous system. A decoction of the room is useful as a gargle in carious teeth toothache , sore -throat and tonsillitis. it has been given in paralysis hemiplegia epilepsy chorea and rheumatism and a other diseases ect.

Taking ashwagandha seems to lower TSH and increase thyroid hormone levels in people with a mild form of underactive thyroid.Insomnia. Some research shows that taking ashwagandha might help people sleep better etc.
